The great amount,
quality and proximity of raw material, facilitated that in 1888 Mr.
Francesc Queralt i Roca created a factory to make wood vehicles.
This was the
departure point and beginning of the history of a familiar company
which felt proud of being the first Spanish auto body maker.
The second
generation of this company, in 1910, with Mr. Joan Queralt Andriu at
the front, initiated the manufacture of carriages for passengers,
without leaving our traditional way of making commercial carriages.
Later on, the
iron plates came up to reinforce the weak parts of the vehicles made
of wood. This was the moment of inflection for the company and
allowed the evolution towards the iron plate usage and new
manufacture systems.
With the third
generation, directed by Joan Queralt Dalmau, we began to build the
first metallic bodies, which was the precursor of the present
processes of elaboration.
In 1978 the
present INDCAR was constituted, under the direction of Santiago
Queralt Monforte. This was the fourth generation, in which the
company consolidated as bus body manufacturer for medium and small
range: from MAGO 1, through the Pivecar and finally at the present
time with a wide range of midi/minibuses: MAGO2, MAGO2 Cabrio, WING,
STRADA and STRADA PLUS.
INDCAR mainly
dedicates to the manufacture of body vehicles for the transport of
travellers (models Mago2 and Wing) and adaptation of vans for the
transport of travellers (Strada model), following the most demanding
guidelines for quality and comfort.
From its beginnings
and through generations, this enterprising company has been growing,
improving day to day and making an effort in developing a product in
accordance with the market expectations and customers. Being today,
thanks to the effort, perseverance, illusion and passion contributed
from the first day, at the greatest expansion moment, presenting on
the market its innovating vehicles.
